Principal's Corner

Greetings from the Principal's Pencil

Dear Central Elementary School community,

Greetings, and welcome to the 2016 – 17 school term.  My name is Dr. Tara Green and this is my fifth year as principal of Central Elementary.  I am honored to serve as principal of such an exciting learning community.  Our compassionate, skilled staff members know how to help students learn and want what is best for them. Our partnership with the families of our students as well as other community members and organizations is a key part of our success. We firmly believe that a home/school partnership is necessary for the success of all of our students.  Research and experience shows, that students benefit as parents and guardians are involved in their formal education. In an effort to help us maximize your child’s success, we ask that you emphasize the importance of education through the following:

  • Ensure that your child is at school on time each day.
  • Attend parent/teacher conferences and school events.
  • Monitor your child’s homework daily.
  • Expect and support positive behavior at school.
  • Read with your child or encourage your child to read daily.

In addition, there are numerous volunteer opportunities in which we welcome you to become involved.  Volunteers make a tremendous positive impact and enrich our educational program.

We are committed to doing all we can to make this school year a successful experience for every student.  Learning involves sharing ideas, making mistakes, and attempting new experiences.  Hard work by everyone, the teacher, the parent, the principal, but most importantly the student is crucial to the learning process.  At Central, we value and challenge each student and provide opportunities for success.  Instruction is based on Common Core Standards.  Students’ success is the center of all we do.

I genuinely care about all children and their families, which motivates me to try my best to provide a quality experience for everyone.  Ensuring a safe, positive learning environment is a top priority for me and all staff.  We come to work every day with enthusiasm to support each student.

The year ahead holds great potential for the academic and social development of our students, and it is vital that we combine our efforts to help them succeed.  Thank you for supporting our school.
